Skirting The Issue

For the majority of these colder months, I've been focused on pants, pants and more pants....I just couldn't get enough...from my coveted J Brand wide-legged trouser jeans to the leather pants I'd been dreaming about for months and finally got my hands on!

Partially due to practicality - although don't get me wrong, I still brave the ice and snow in next-to-bare legs when the right outfit requires it! - and partially due to laziness (....it's just so easy to throw on an oversized sweater or blouse, pair it with leggings or jeans and boots and call it a day!) the dresses and skirts in my life, and in the stores, have been faced with some serious neglect.

That is until now.

I don't know if it's the onslaught of the Spring/Summer collections and campaigns or my brain refusing to accept that we are officially in the dead of winter, but suddenly all I can think about are all the amazing skirt options out there and how I can wear and style them come the warm temperatures!

 Pairing it with a sheer black blouse (as shown above) creates such a sophisticated, alluring look or try a crisp V-neck tee or top, to dress this up or down

 Perfect for showing off a great pair of heels, plus the jersey allows for so much versatility...this piece can create so many different looks!
Definitely one to have in your wardrobe.

American Apparel Chiffon Full Length Skirt

This is definitely the most risque of the bunch, but paired with a strapless swimsuit or bodysuit (of the same or complimentary color would be most chic) and of course heels, it is absolute perfection for a beach vacation...transitions perfectly from ocean to cocktails!

If covering up juuusstt a bit more is your preferred style (plus, a much more suitable option for non-sandy locales) just  layer the skirt over a tight tank dress and voila!

The Karl Effect

The much anticipated KARL by Karl Lagerfeld collection has finally arrived!! 

Officially debuting today, the collection is being sold exclusively through Net A Porter and offers wardrobe staples such as skinny pants, sharp jackets, dresses, tanks and tees and more, all exuding his signature cool, downtown style, black and white palette, and of course shameless self-promotion - all the reasons why we just can't get enough Karl Lagerfeld!

Spotlight On: Charlotte Olympia

Charlotte Olympia, the eponymous footwear and accessories line by Charlotte Dellal which launched in 2007, has become one of my absolute favorites to follow.

Not only does she seem keen on focusing on my absolute favorite thing when it comes to shoes (height!) but her designs always incorporate classic, timeless silhouettes with a bit of quirk and playfulness... be it with a pop of metallic shine or in unexpected details and embellishments (think cat faces, piano keys...even fruit!). High on class, drama and of course height, these shoes are definitely for the girl not afraid to make a statement.
