Paris Couture Week: Fall 2013

Paris Couture Week has just wrapped for the Fall 2013 season, which in my opinion officially marks the countdown to NYFW in just 2 short months.

While the Ready-To-Wear collections possess a special kind of energy which creates all sorts of buzz and excitement within the industry, as well as with casual fashion followers - which I absolutely love - there is something about couture which holds it's own very unique, and very different appeal to me.

There is something to be said about the minute details, the quiet yet somehow deafening deliberation in each pleat, stitch, seam and hem that envelops me in awe. Couture is not about the editors, the buyers, the press and the mass production and salability of a line.

Couture to me, is a direct reflection of the uttering of a designer's soul into a tangible item: pristine and untainted by worries of PR, market viability and such.

Paris' Fall 2013 Couture week saw Futuristic Space Cowgirls, Global Goddesses and Saccharine-Sweet Seraphs, among others.

Below are a few looks from this season's standout collections.
